I'm currently making linocuts inspired by symbols from my family's history of origin.
The imagery is a balance of symbols that represent my family's Irish and English Christian/Catholic ancestry (the clover and symbol of the Trinity) and also honor my Ashkenazi Jewish roots (the symbol of the Hamsa hand for protection).
The waves at the bottom of the image show my family's migration by boat from western Europe to the United States in the 1950's.
These are black linocuts printed with Speedball on white paper, and then hand-colored with Prismacolor colored pencils. Each one will be colored differently, and the lino has been adjusted so there are three versions of this print. Originals are for sale HERE.
